What are we going to do Mr. Asner?

Ed Asner

Love is All Around!
My friends,

WOW - where did January go?  With less than six months from the 2015 Celebration, the reservations and registrations are coming in fast.

Remember when I asked you to tell us the three top celebrities you wanted to meet at at the Celebration?   Well, can’t mention any names, but right now we’re deep in negotiations with the #1 celebrity that you’ve picked.  When his name started showing up on your wish lists, I thought he was too famous and out of reach to even think about getting him to  attend A Celebration of Friends weekend.  It’s a person I’ve adored and dreamed about for years.  If this all works out, this will be the Celebration to top ALL Celebrations and worth each one of the hundreds of lessons we’ve tried to learn in the past fourteen years.

It’s actually very hard for me to keep this secret . . . . but here’s one small hint …he’s a beautiful man!  We sent another guy an invitation as well….and he may attend also! – Two celebrities for the price of one!!  We’re praying for you Pope Francis! . . . maybe he can make it after all!

Please keep sending in your celebrity requests as we’re already planning for next year’s Celebrity. You can do this at http://www.celebrationoffriends.org. The Board looks forward to hearing from all of you and we look forward to getting survey responses. If you haven’t already filled out the survey, you still can. Just go back to our August newsletter on the homepage of the ACOF website.

LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!

We have lost many wonderful friends since 2002
- the year of the first A Celebration of Friends in New Orleans. If you have ANY pictures of departed members/attendees of any ACOF Celebration, that you would like to share, I would like you to email them to me with the person’s first name, dates of life and Celebrations attended, to  info@celebrationoffriends.org

A few more things you’d probably like to know:

First, don’t forget that the price of registration goes up to $100 at the end of the month. So get those registrations in and SAVE!

Second – we have some outstanding events planned this year:

Friday night – the Hawaiian Hula Skirt Dancing contest, so start getting your skirts ready and practicing those dance moves!!

Thirdly - we will also be screening several movies:

The short film “Tom In America” starring Bert Young will be shown Thursday night.

The documentary “Taking a Chance on God”, about the life and times of Father John McNeill, founder of Dignity New York and one of the founders of A Celebration of Friends.  Father John and his partner Charles Chiarelli will be present to answer your questions.

And then Friday night; we’ll have a screening of a film by that yet unnamed celebrity, followed up by a Q & A session.

Free popcorn will be available at all screenings.

Looks like 2015 Celebration of Friends is shaping up to be one of our best weekends, if not THE BEST ever!  You won’t want to miss it, so get those registrations in!

BE KIND, LOVE & RESPECT EACH OTHER.

Looking forward to seeing you all again soon,

Lots & Lots Of Love,
